Queering the Canon

Queering the Canon are meetups for trans and non-binary theatre makers and cis allies to rethink gender in theatre.

Every month is different with discussions set by participants for the following meetup.

This month, we are looking at scenes from four plays.
Stitch 'n Social Battersea
27 January 2026, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this free event is perfect for anyone who loves working with yarn. Come meet fellow crafters, share tips, and enjoy a relaxing time together.
Some materials like yarn, crochet hook and knitting needles are available, but feel free to bring your own project. This isn’t a teaching workshop, but there will be folks on hand who can help you get started if you need a refresher. Come stitch, chat, and create in a supportive, creative space!
Wave Writers

Wave Writers is a series of free, playwriting workshops for Wandsworth women from African and Caribbean backgrounds.

Led by local playwright, Zakiyyah Dean, Wave Writers will help you unlock your creativity in a fun, social setting.
​
After our workshops, Zakiyyah will write a short play inspired by our sessions that will be read on our mainstage on International Women's Day. This event will be open to the public and booked separately.
