SheWrites: Scratch Night

8 March 2026, 6:30pm

We're celebrating women’s stories and creativity from pen to stage on International Women's Day with a scratch night full of new plays from women writers.

Join us as we read the plays and give feedback together in a collaborative, fun showcase followed by networking in the theatre bar.

Featuring the reading of a new micro play from our Wave Writers playwright, Zakiyyah Deen, who developed the play following workshops with local women from African and Caribbean backgrounds for Black History 365, supported by Welcome to Wandsworth and the Heritage Fund.

Tickets are free with donations welcome.

SheWrites: Four Sisters Workshop

Join Hoo Hah House and Associate Artist Molly Spain for our  free two-hour viewpoints exploration.

Using the body as language alongside with text from our recent play ‘Four Sisters’, we’ll investigate feminist perspectives, presence, space and resistance through guided movement, original text, and collective play. No performance experience required—just curiosity, willingness, and comfortable clothes.

We’ll question dominant narratives using Chekhov' s women as our base. Come to experiment, collaborate, and reclaim space through motion and language. Leave with new tools, fresh text, and a deeper understanding of New Work.

Part of SheWrites, a day of developing and sharing new writing from women playwrights at Arches Lane Theatre.
