(SAINT) JOAN
adapted by Ruthie Black
after George Bernard Shaw
8 - 12 April 2026, 7:30pm
9 - 11 April 2026, 3:00pm
Our SAINT JOAN distills Shaw’s four-hour epic to a taut ninety minutes. In an imagined modern interrogation room, Joan of Arc’s life and encounters, miracles and trials are enacted by Joan and her Interrogator.
Sometimes court-room reality documentary, sometimes confessional TikTok – sometimes a movie playing in their minds; it is both at once a live play and film.
SAINT JOAN is renowned for its ability to present opposing viewpoints in a way that is so compelling, we are left to argue and debate what the answers might be... Is Saint Joan an argument against the war, or for it? Is Joan a pawn in a political alliance or a revolutionary?
