Renowned comedian Mitch Benn returns to Arches Lane Theatre this May to read Kenneth Grahame's beloved The Wind in the Willows in celebration of 2026 being the National Year of Reading.

Bring the whole family for a magical hour sharing adventures with the Mole, Wet Rat, Mr Toad as they explore the wild wood, learning the values of nature, friendship, and home. Mitch Benn’s reading of the classic tale is fun for the whole family and inspires a love of reading and storytelling in dreamers of all age.

Mitch Benn is comedian, author, satirical songwriter, musician, and actor, widely recognized as one of the UK's leading comedy song performers. He is perhaps best known as the resident comic songwriter on BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show from 1999 to 2016. As a comedian, Mitch has toured extensively in the UK and internationally over the last 20 years. Mitch’s voice acting credits include Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens TV series and the Sandman audiobooks. Mitch is currently touring in the UK with his newest comedy show, The Lehrer Effect.

All ages are welcome, though babes in arms might get restless. Best for ages 4+.
